    dotsFeet of strengthdots
    -------------------------------------------

It takes some great feet of strength to walk on in solitude
    with a positive mental attitude
    when the journey is trying
    and the planet is dying

    what's green turns black
    and pavement will crack
    while oceans rise
and the tides come once more
    to swallow the shore

    when God calls in sick
    the devil works
    oh, the perks of immortality
    and absence of morality
the price of air is fatality
    eventually we are a shell
    an empty body
    no soul to sell

never walk alone, at the end
it's clear a friend was there
and the world's weight was lighter
    strong feet walk on together
and the sun burns out the brighter
    as things dim it's true
the ones we love live on while hearts still beat
tired feet march and blood pumps on
    while one still breathes
    hope is never gone

Ah, this piece really rings true. This world is such a difficult place to live in nowadays. It certainly doesn't help that imperfect humans (influenced by both the Devil and their own imperfect desires) are destroying everything.

You write in a similar way that I do. My pieces often begin with something sad, something painful, but end with something positive. I like how you did that with this poem.

    'hope is never gone'

That one little line pretty much encompasses the whole poem. It is a poem in itself. It reminds me of the lyrics from the song 'Hope' by Klaatu. I leave you now with the lyrics:

"Hope is like a lighthouse keeper's beam
Hope the master cobbler of our dreams
For Hope believes in desert streams
    The mightiest of stars
    The microcosm in a jar
Vast or small they all revolve on Hope

Hope the guardian angel of the dove
Hope a gift of guidance from above
For Hope is the heart in mother's love
    No plans could be conceived
No ships could fare the seas
For there would be no courage were it not for Hope

Now the path before us lies before our very eyes
    Don't you see
And it leads up to the gateway
    Lead me through
    Don't you see

Then come and take my hand
    Raise up your head
    And dry your eyes
    For up ahead I see
    Woh woh yeah
    A ray of peace
    A-shining on me

    So let us feel Hope
And feel the sunrise in our minds
To give Hope is to enlighten all mankind
Ah but lose Hope and life seems black as blind
When faith gives way to fear
    When motivation disappears
All is lost if one abandons Hope
    All is lost
    If one abandons Hope"
