Rain bleated across my window,
Each droplet a dagger of despair.
Could there be no more sunshine?
Just a break in the clouds,
A small ray of sunlight,
Would appease this tumultuous feeling
Buried deep in the core of my humanity.
Thinking is hard,
When pain has engulfed your entire soul.
In every direction I look,
Despair has entangled me,
Like a leech it won’t let go.
It has me by the legs,
A ball and chain,
Please, let me go.
I am torn,
Tiny pieces of my heart,
Have scattered each and every way.
Which way do I go?
Does it really matter?
Either direction I choose my heart is still irreparable.
