    I don't need your validation,
    Although it would be nice,
    I can live through fire,
    I can live in your Ice.

    I just need hope to keep shining,
    And a good old bluesy Hymn,
    A book to read when I get bored,
    And sex every now and then.

    I don't need world peace,
    I don't need a vacation,
    I don't need lots of money,
    And I ceartainly don't need your validation.

      I LOVE the message. Like you said, it reads a bit rough. It can be refined to a great piece. Personally, I like it the way it is. But, the last stanze makes me think that you rank the importance of that person's validation along with those other things. World peace kinda stands out.
