    Had I a wish, a precious wish
That would make my life so fine
    With no debate, to contemplate
I’d wish that she was mine

    Had I a dream, a special dream
That I wallowed in each night
With all my heart, right from the start
I’d dream to hold her tight

    Had I a smile, a loving smile
That was on my face each day
With her to see, most endlessly
    I’d smile my life away

Had I a love, a one true love
That would surely warm my soul
With heart and mind, no longer blind
I’d know she made me whole

This is another great piece of work from you. Frank, you really are a great writer, I wish I could be that good! I really enjoyed this from the first line to the very last line! This is another from you that I could hear as a song on the radio... I am serious!

    Keep on writing.

This one is really fabulous. Once in a blue moon I write a poem and I get one stanza that I think is exactly the way it should be, like the universe somehow allowed it to fit so perfectly together. More often I read a poem that someone else has fashioned so that TWO stanzas are like that, like the heavens struck those stanzas and they magically paired together like an angelic couple. Only with my very favorite poets does it ever happen throughout the whole poem. You are one of those- a true artist. Each. Stanza. Is. Perfect.
P.S. My other favorites are no slackers, so I'm comparing you to Dickinson, Eliot, Keats, Petrarch and Poe here. Do not take this lightly!

Another favourite...and another gem Frank, you are such a gifted writer. Thank you once again for sharing your words. Absolutely Perfect!

Aaah Frank, you've outdone yourself this time! This is absolutely spectacular, and a delightful love poem. All of us mortals dream and fantacize about the perfect love!

A tiny criticism; the word "wallowed" is too common for such a beautiful love poem. I suggest a more flowing or elegant word; try

    Had I a dream, a special dream
    That engulfed me every night

This is the poem that every man would like to read to that one special girl (if he was lucky enough to find her).

Outstanding, stunning work, my talented friend!

Another winner from Frank. Absolutely beautiful. So much love in everything you do. Poetry at its best.

Another lovely ode to that fabled (and often doubted) true love!
You are, without a doubt, the King of Love Prose on ES, Frank!

(I still say you should write love songs...)

    Wonderful work, as always, Frank!
