Fibromyalgia sucks and so does our government

Make the font bigger!! Double Spacing Back to recent posts.

    dotsIgnorance is Blissdots

Fatigue settles in from my head to my toes
I don't offer many smiles on days like these
For the gloom in the air that tickles my nose
Renders me useless to even say"please"

Nothing quite like the smell of defeat
This body and I don't seem to fit
The weather, alone calls for retreat
Another day started, one more to quit

Fear of the future that haunts day by day
What's in store for someone like me
Another bill in the mail, begging for pay
If only they saw the things that I see

    "Handi-capped" whispers through medical files
Our system seems to read only in bold
As the government screams my denial
The blood in my veins drips only cold

Tears flood the streets below our beautiful steeples
We'll feed, clothe, and medicate for new lives to begin
Foreigners welcome, we don't have enough people
Please don't trip on our veterans as you let yourselves in

Another year to go before my lawyer gets my day
Come the first of the month my neighbors are all paid
You can work all your life and sign it away
For integrity will die while ignorance gets laid

This poem flowed well. Again you had a couple one liners that took it from a nice poem to awesome! "For integrity will die while ignorance gets laid" That is a quote people can feel. Anyone one who has screwed up or been screwed over can feel something when they read that. I liked it a lot.

Jessa, this is a very nice poem! As I read it I just felt so in tune with what the poem was written about. I felt I could connect. Although, still' after a few times reading it through, I don't fully understand what it's about, but I enjoyed reading it all the same. I was looking over my previous poems and I thank you again for all of your comments.
