    dotsunder the great oak treedots
    -------------------------------------------

I see people passing me by,
under the shade of a great oak tree,
    acorns dropping all around me
    pitterpattering on the ground

    I wait in anxious hope
under the great boughs swaying above me,
    that he will come
    framed by the sun,
    smile open and welcoming

    Then we would sit
    under the old tree
and watch the people walk by,
caught in their own little world
like we are caught in ours.

I myself have written a poem about sitting under a tree, I find that it is easier for me to write when I am out like that. Nicely written...

Hope and tender aspirations, and what better place to have them than under the great oak tree. The Oaks are a majestic tree, stout and proud, and sheltering to all beneath.

I'm a country boy, and love poems about the out-of-doors and nature. This has a country, woodsy, fresh air feel to it, and was a delightful poem to read.

    Nice work!
