    -------------------------------------------

Self reliance- a Curse, a Gift, my nature.

A curse, that we are doomed,
    Doomed to an eternity alone.

A gift, that we will never be hurt by the falsehoods of love and life.

Its is my nature- a Gift of the Darkest proportions,
    A curse, of fallen Holiness.

To be this accursed servant of Life,
    The blessed servant of corruption,
It is the only bliss I know.

I try and comment on pieces that are void of comment. I also know that some poems are not factual or personal, but merely for entertainment. If this is one of those then the below comment does not apply. So here you go:

I liked the flow and meaning of this poem, although, does your meaning convey that you DO indeed think "self-reliance" is a curse of loneliness? If so, one could argue that it is only if you allow it to be. It seems that the rest of the poem was dictating to the reader of one being their own master of fate. Use the "curse" as an advantage to separate yourself from the heard, sort of speak, not to end in loneliness, but rather rise yourself above the crowd. Either way, I enjoyed it. Thanks for the post!!
