    Description:
I hope one can get the meaning of my piece. It is a deeply held conviction of mine that was so beautifully emulated by my father. Only after his passing recently did I come to understand. I hope my words honor my father in a way I was incapable of while I had him here.

    WHY MEN CRY

Recognize pure emotion mortared into a being
Witness you, the summit of selflessness
That primal release reserved, stowed below deck
Taught and nurtured, reticent of release

The infant cries for itself, necessary for growth
    A language only understood genetically
Yet the cry conveys an intrinsic message of desire
Essential sustenanceís, the benefaction of life

The matronís cries reveal a masterpiece of expression
Delivered as strokes of an artistís brush
Words coupled with emotion, imbed the master note
Unto us receive her desire, in compelling complicity

He the stanchion, him the refuge, guards his cries
Awash in decisions, responsibility and fear
A cry not for himself, a cry not for desire
The emotion is his wealth, spread only for another

The title drew me in. Made me think...

"The infant cries for itself, nessesary for growth"

"The emotion is his wealth, spread only for another"

Man, these are some of the best lines ive read. I mean theyre not just lines. Theres a way of life behind it, a psychology i guess. It is wise, like the guy below said. And I truly value this thought.

This poem is not just poetry, its personal history with respect toward your father. Its fatherly wisdom. I found this strong, hard to do in my mind. But then again what do I know.

It certainly does honor you father. Beautifully strong poem, sir. A favourite.

That is very clever, very very wise words *click click* *bongos* The language could have been simpler but over all you expressed it well. Good job.

This is a very deep piece of work. Sounds like your dad was a strong person and I am sure that your words honor him. Nice writing.

    Keep on writing!
