    Counting syllables,
    three lines of five-seven-five,
    doesn't turn me on.

      needing the passion
    writhing without any pleasure
    always over too soon

i agree. haiku is like a premature orgasm and there's nothing sexy about that.

Looking past the literal......I have to agree with you. I think haiku structures are ridiculous. To me, they don't stimulate any kind of thoughts or feelings. They make me feel as if the people try to hard. "Counting syllables,
three lines of five-seven-five" <---I always find myself doing exactly that with haiku's. Which is heavily annoying.

Back to the literal, haikus are like going through a painfully dull dinner and movie with someone that you feel like shagging, finally getting past all the bull[censored], and in the bed, realizing you suffered the whole night for something that definitely wasn't worth it.

Having said all that......unfortunately your haiku is no different....I should have skipped the shag and went straight for the cigarette. ha.

    :)

Hah. Cute. I am not sure if I have ever really been turned on by poetry, but then again, I haven't read *that* much of it. I did a lot of examining Spanish pastoral poetry the first two years of college, but if I can help it, I will never do it again.

I agree with Ampahic Aya in that I usually just want to know more information about a situation when I read somebody's cryptic poetry, not do them.

I can't say I'm too interested about what does turn you on... but I can say that you're funny. Go you. :)

Until next time, feed expired parking meters, volunteer, recycle, help old ladies cross the street, and cover the world with your own personal sunshine.

awesome...this could easily become a haiku completely about haiku's

    that is a haiku

haha fricken perfection...but that's besides the point because it's a perfect haiku as is..comes full circle beginning middle end yadda yadda...precise

only leaves me asking...which ones do turn you on ;)

    flawless, once again

LMAO!!! Best use of poetry ever!! I don't have much else to say, because reading other people's poem sometimes does turn me on, and it makes me wanna know the person who wrote it, but that's an interesting concept. Hmmm, maybe I'll try to write a seductive poem, then. I have before, but maybe it's my new challenge. See if I can tastefully turn someone on through poetry. Yes.

    Good stuff.

Hahaha. Well, it turns ME on. Just kidding. Cool poem, although I'm not quite sure the point of the haiku is to turn someone on... although, of course, I have no control over whether or not someone is using it in that fashion.
