Surrounded by a crowd
countless bodies, countless faces
some of the familiar
most however not
so many people, paying eachother no mind
pushing and shoving
like livestock
Too caught up in personal matters to care about those around
We have become withdrawn
I have become withdrawn
A few passing by notice me
I know them
A quick, unasuring hug here
An empty smile there
then, as quickly as they appeared thry are gone, swallowed by the crowd
Hollow goodbyes remain
Countless bodies, blurry faces
pushing, shoving
surrounded
With drawn
In the company of men we are alone |
