Looking up at the world
I see only fountains of blue
Like slime and goo
Polluting my vision
Have you ever seen the world through my eyes?
Well, then again neither have I.
Looking down at the world
I see only darkness
A reflection of my soul
Showing me that I’m a tool
Have you ever seen the world through my eyes?
I guess that’s okay, because neither have I.
Looking at the world through binoculars
I long to see everything in startling detail
But the fog of my mind takes over all
And revokes the details from my sight,
They’d only hurt me deeper.
Have you ever seen the world through my eyes?
They'd see things you’d never imagine
But then again, neither have I.
Looking at the world from a distance
I expect a perfect circle,
A blue gem in the dark sky
But the edges have lost their glow
And all you are is a dangerous spheroid
Dampening my soul
My eyes they are my protection
They are masked by this dark recognition
Of what I’m becoming
Keeping me from the lies
20/20 vision has become my demise
What can you see?
I never wanted to watch this fall apart
Right in front of me
Have you ever seen the world through my eyes?
No one has.
They are my disguise.
