Sunny days and hot afternoons and silly smiles. The sun's beating down on the grass boldly. The rays seeming monsterous after such a long winter and rainy spring. Sophie's twirling on bare feet and is squishing into the mud under that big oak thats shadow is so emense the sunlight can't reach the dirt underneath.
She's marvelously dirty and in a good mood. Just by herself, her heart is fluttering on the uncertain wings of happiness, and her brown eyes are wide with delight.
Dappled sunshine slides like liquid off her twirling figure as she moves fluidly in between the trees that offer her such comfort. She's wearing a ratty white dress with a square neckline, her hair is in a disarry of brown spiral curls and leaves, and she looks like she belongs.
A handsome face, although a little rounder than what's considered unanimously attractive, shines brighter than even such a dertermined sun when she smiles. Gap teeth don't matter when you're soul's at the highest point and she's past elation.
Breathing hard from her constant moving, running towards nothing and everything, and just feeling her body connect with the earth around it, she's happy. The weight and power of her footsteps no longer shames her. She's pleased with herself, with the space she takes up, happy to be alive. |
