Sometimes, my memories begin to blur
It's usually when the world's spinning too fast,
    I'm tilting,
    And I hurl
Because it blurs the lines in my mind that shape your face
I rage against the miles growing, knowing distance seperates,
    Drowning into oceans, flowing
In between the trust that dissipates
I sigh, when I can't remember, each laugh line's particular grace
My memories blur, and i grow sad
When I can't recall your face

I'll stare at my fingers, hoping they remember
The feel of your bare skin, on which I traced
The promises that you can't possibly remember
I never spoke, instead I wrote
In soft caresses between your shoulder blades
I stayed awake for hours, just to watch you sleep
To drink in each breath you slept out
To memorize each curve of cheek
And I remember the circles shadowing under my eyes
But they didn't mean a thing
I was in your arms, awake, almost every time
Those were nights when I didn't need to dream

Sometimes I cry, without knowing the reason
No storm warning, nowhere to hide
Outside my window, the skies spread blue
But those are the days it rains inside
I think I cry, because it seems
That the miles are oceans, and the oceans in between
Are drowning the memories, and fading the dreams
That I never slept to feel, that I never felt would leave
Yet it is all I hope for,
Love I desperately still, and will, believe

I have a secret in the form of a bag
It's filled with the sea, and sometimes I get mad
Because it reminds me of the beginning,
Which never seemed like it would change
Not that's it's worse, but the distance is so strange
And the shells are inside, if I choose to recollect
Sometimes I sing and they sing back
    Sometimes they're quiet with regret
No matter what they say, though
They always help me to reflect
On the summer I fell in love,
On a season I'll never forget

    I remember
And how funny that I feel even stronger
    Despite heartbreak
    And the distance growing longer
Obstacles were overcome, sacrifices were made
We bid adieu to the defiant Fall
    Welcoming Spring as a break
Now, my memory doesn't blur, but my eyes do
    The ocean in my eyes
    Dripping salt on my lips
The tide is pushing my heart to you
    To you
    Love far away and blurring
    But never ceasing to exist
