    dotsAn Apostle's Lamentdots

    Such was his mission,
to be free and to freely be our savior.
    Such was his calling,
heard not a moment too soon,
    but a decade too late.
    Such were his chances,
    inherently impossible,
    hindered and obstructed,
    forces sinful and sweet,
both conspiring behind walls of willful ignorance.
Conspiracy recognized not even by the perpetrators,
    actions without consequence,
for doing nothing can have no consequence
    they believe.

    Such was his fire,
to burn down the buildings of baseless foundations,
    the mansions of mindless thought,
the ships trying to sneak out in the night.
    Such was his desire,
    his heart
    his hope.
    And they were his own.
    His charge,
    borne of aspiration and commiseration
    and not a little innocence,
    diluting cynicism just enough,
    he'd never see the possibility
    of failure.
    Such was his life
    of missed opportunities,
a lagging generation subject to feedbacks
    ringing singularly positive.

    Such was his song,
    unrecognized and unsung,
    a melody seeking harmony.
    Such was his love,
    alive even in death,
rallying the unwilling to climb the walls of hell,
    that heaven might truly exist.

It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
