I can taste the very air of your deceit
    It lingers inside me
    Tarnish on my tongue
    With too many poems written
    Written in too many verses
    On the converse of love

    With a pallet of tin
Sticks this cold tang of steal
And at once was bitten too sweet
    And too real
Did you dribble such a fragrance
    Of regret

    Empty words
    Empty promise
    Empty skies
    So replete with the poundings
    Their beaches and waves

    Echoes now, second best

    I would forget you
If you did not hang so precariously on the harp
If all the wisdom of ages
    Were to turn to dust
I would not linger in the words of my heart

Ah ! take a desperate sigh to the trash can
Set fire to its malingering intent
    Wipe off this taint
In what pleasures you take in this trickery
    Ha ! more fool me

    Sleep with your sorrow
    Sleep as I do
Now there is no hope or dream to cling to
Regurgitate all the love you allude to
    In empty lines
    And apathetic rhymes
So they can match the death you brought me to

And one by one all the castles
    All the blue girls
    All the purple poetry
All the caged animal in me
And dies within your quills and inks
    Of deceit
