    Description:
For a little boy named Frankie. He has a messed up life and he's only four but you can see he is already a sad angry little dude.

Hey Little Light, don’t worry about a thing
Its going to be alright, You’ll see, It’ll be alright.
I’ll see you in the morning and we’ll sing
La la La la, La la LA la … x 2

Oh the lies sting as they flood down your face
And you’re talking but Daddy isn’t listening,
He isn’t looking until he’s yelling, screaming
And he doesn’t care that you’re crying.
You don’t know why it’s like this, you hate this.
Only the serpent offers a kiss
And the poison seems a kindness.

But hold on Little Light, Don’t worry about a thing,
It’s going to be alright (You’re going to be alright)
Ill see you in the morning and we’ll sing
La la La la, La la LA la… x2

And the drugs and the parties and “go upstairs…”
“because I said so.” And you turn around
And mommies on the ground and
This isn’t how its supposed to be,
So why does it keep happening?
So he sits in a room all alone,
Watching some movie about a killer on TV,
He stares at the victims face and wonders
    What it would be like…

    That peace.

But hold on Little Light, don’t worry about a thing,
Its going to be alright, I promise it will be alright,
Ill see you in the morning and well sing
La la La la, La la LA la… x2

And its so dark without a night-light,
Without arms holding you close and warm and tight,
And you’re so afraid, trembling in your bed,
But you’re okay and ill tell you why.
Because the dark is afraid of Light,
And when you smile you shine so bright,
And when you laugh I think the stars ignite.

And baby let me tell you something,
    There’s a place where it’s never night,
And there’s no tears, only stars and daylight,
And the sun never hides, its always bright outside
And ill be right there by your side,

So close your eyes Little Light ,
    Don’t worry about a thing,
Its going to be alright, go to sleep tonight
And ill see you in the morning
And well shine so bright and well sing

La la La la, La la LA la… x4

That is for all children and parents: brought me some tears. That reassurance is so much needed, and so hard to access - even for sane adults! You are talking like God here; but like God, how can you reassure someone who is suffering? How can they believe you and take it to heart?

But without this voice, all is lost. That's all what this poem made me think about.

I like this poem. I was skyping my heart's desire just before and read it to her.

I would say that its at its best up to this point:

I say that because there's a real tenderness and mood, a mood that says all the stuff you then go on to say. For me it's better left, it's at its best left, because yes, the feeling is implied.

I don't know how long you've been writing for, but I think you are, that you will be, one gem of a writer.

I adore aspects of this. The refrain is just gorgeous.

I think that this is kind of surprising. You almost expect that dude to turn into a serial killer and that the narrator has set you up for a moral lesson.

I'm not sure I like the happy ending but I'm glad it's not preachy. I guess what strikes me the most is that this could be a lot of things and that makes me think it isn't the one thing it was born to be.... i know you can write goodstuff. I like to read it... and so I think i'll see this piece again.
