    -------------------------------------------

I am the clock on the wall.
Absolute and all knowing, ticking away every moment with a self satisfaction, a constant reminder of the harrowing to come.
I am the pendulum that swings afraid of the perpetual motion that is just out of reach, but only for a moment as my tourbillon I will beseech.
What has always been inside will live on beyond what we perceive as eternal life.

I will not age, I will not die.
I am immortal in every way despite the telling of time.
You will turn to ash and I will not cry.
I will not age, I will not die.
I am immortal in every aspect except the telling of my time.

Tourbillon turn back what holds me down.
A perfectly polished escapement, shimmering brilliantly in my eyes, oh how grand it feels to be one with life.
Ticking, a melody that everyone seems to forget is true beauty.
For I am he which can always be.
Immortal despite alone helpless wanderings across the forsaken grave that fails to bind to me.

I've seen your face come and go a thousand times over.
From the day you were born until you crumble as old.
A saving grace could never erase what swings inside me, wind my clockwork heart and bring back the music box that I remember at my start.
From the shores of a world afar, I tire from the endless walking of my comb, playing a melody I should only remember as I grow old.

I watch as I watch, I tic and I toc.
Captivated by this tourbillon and music box.
An escapement built of silver and brass, perhaps gold at best.
Yet I find no way to stop the crank, spinning around slowly yet always remaining in the same place.
A gift gifted to the next one who carries the name, yet I will never pass it along.

My tourbillon, my pocket watch, shimmering so vividly in the light, even the sun in time will die.
Perhaps this is when I will understand what it is truly like to be left behind, blowing back in the wind as ashes this time,
Yet time itself will continue on, Oh how I understand it's anguish with each note of this song.
