    -------------------------------------------

    something low-drive,
with a little bit of shame
    eleven days in your bedroom
    have left me completely changed,
    ocean scarred for my efforts
and there are promises you made
that i begged you not to say
    but the words have come
    and gone
and you have done the same

    god knows i tried,
    bon iver
but your music makes me sick
    don't take it to heart,
    you know "flume" is something,
in which i could really sink
but it's the last thing that i heard
    before she removed her teeth
    from me

i would've brought down the sky
tied a noose around the moon
    like a meek messiah,
    here to take my place
    just to keep you here
and there are lies that you shake
that i am left to carry on
    you know, at close range
    your best of intentions
start to resemble the barrel of a gun

    god knows i tried,
    bon iver
but your music makes me sick
    don't take it to heart,
    you know "flume" is something,
in which i could really sink
but it's the last thing that i heard
    before she removed her teeth
    from me

    and i write these things
because you will never rite them
    and i fight these things
but sometimes this gets the best of me

    god knows i tried,
    bon iver
but your music makes me sick
    don't take it to heart,
    you know "flume" is something,
in which i could really sink
but it's the last thing that i heard
    before she removed her teeth
    from me

i find ive got to be in the right state of mind to listen to bon iver but when i am in that state i'll be singing skinny love for weeks... you know?

its funny the way we channel things when we're in the break up process.
i dont know if youve ever heard this:

but to me this is the ultimate in break up poetry. and i think your song here works the same as his poem...

and music... music is some kinda of vehicle for nostalgia [or mental illness depending on nostalgia levels]
like... fast car is a song i connect to my mother leaving my father and my father lying on my bed listening to tracy chapman with me until i fall asleep
like... like a stone reminds me of a guy who ended up killing himself and how he was always about that song and how it seems to be all he is now
like... killing me softly is the first song i ever sang that earned me any money even if it was only worth 16 cents when converted back to NZD

and so forever bon iver will be your breakup soundtrack and some days that will be a painful shame for... but other days its prolly better off because it was written for emma forever ago... something about the past and the way life changes us... i wonder what his album for emma now would sound like...

    yeah. ramble ramble
    i like this.
