Away Message Whore

Description:
This poem was a bit forced. I wanted to write a little ditty about reading all the away messages, and I like the term "away message whore." I think it needs more, but on the other hand maybe not. I don't think it has good enough quality to be made any longer. Let me know what you think. (This is one of those ones that I wouldn't normally make public, but I'm trying to open up a bit so go crazy with it!)
Away Message Whore
Whenever I come home and sit before the glowing screen, My eyes drift swiftly rightwards, forward in my chair I lean. I read the away messages. I am an away message whore. These AOL invented and had me in mind for sure. Down my buddy list I scroll. For every yellow square, click on Info to read what each person has to share. Some people think I'm obsessive-compulsive; some call me a bore. But I just like to read away messages. I am an away message whore. |

wow. i ...do that too. but i'm not a wh*re. You're so weird dude. WEIRD. Hmmm...you have a way of capturing everyday crap that we don't even think about, i wonder what your 'normal' thoughts are. I only read some of my friends away messages when I'm on AOL. The only line I didn't get was this one, | "These AOL invented and had me in mind for sure." Shouldn't the 'and' be taken out there? That is the only thing I didn't get. I have a saying that I'm a 'Dance Whore' because I can't get enough of dancing. This was very clever.
