    -------------------------------------------

Its just to big isn’t it
Even when we are confronted with the truth
We’d prefer to believe in the lie

The lie is so much easier
And absolves us of the guilt
    For not having known better

    But it was a lie
    A lie

How can you feel guilty for having believed in a lie
    Where you easily duped
    Or cleverly misinformed

No, not me, I know everything
I acquired all this knowing from years of education
And life revolves around this sacrosanct idealism

    Listen

While I belch and fart all my learned opinions
    My loud voice scribble
    And my indoctrination

And even when the cold slap of truth
    And all its proof
    Slams irrevocable into my face

    I will scoff

    Grow angry and militant
March the streets with my banners of acceptance
And be looking for kindle for the bonfire of witches

And while we beat our souls in our temples
    In search for heaven
    Instead of heaven on Earth

The lie twists and manipulates our history
    Cover-up and deceit
    For dogma and ideology

Bury me, the consumerist slave of commercially
    Propagated minion of the deception
Of telling God, what God is

Ha ! No not me, I; know everything
And if I can’t believe in anything
Well then fuck it, I won’t believe in nothing

And while I race and pirouette into every good time
And the desperate madness will be all mine
At least I will be enjoying myself

I will be riding a drunken roller coaster
Grinning in a ticker tape TV parade
With a million flash photo’s of paparazzi

    I will be

    The epitome

    Of denial

    To the last

And the end of the world came
    Not a day to soon
    And at last

Its just to big isn’t it
Even when we are confronted with the truth
We’d prefer to believe in the lie

The lie is so much easier
And absolves us of the guilt
    For not having known better

    But it was a lie
    All of it
    A Lie
