    dotsThe Melancholy Waters Liedots
    -------------------------------------------

He stood afar, afraid of what he might see.
Those white rapids, faces shifting like a statue at the town square, frozen yet no one is ever the same.
Unnoticed, he noticed a small body of deathly still water; yet below it roiled and sunk deep into Hell.
    "The melancholy waters lie."
A whisper; harsh enough to shiver the spine.

The shore gasped as the cold abyss slashed, he could no longer ignore the rivers alluring grasp.
Turpentine in his blood, he slowly began to separate.
A squint in his pale eyes as a face slowly began to rise, he concentrated.
    "The melancholy waters lie."
The wind came as a final grace, he shook his head and hurried away.

In his mind that face continued to rise, from the depths of midnight and azure sky combined.
So familiar he thought, the way of the face, the part of the hair and the squint of the eyes.
A face he knew, yet knew not; A face to have always seemed - forgot.
    "The melancholy waters lie.
Moon light alas! Lead me to that river and all of it's fright."

Thickets and thorns, every tree sprouted to heed him on his way.
Clawing as the light faded from the sky, not a star watched at the rivers edge, this night; He arrived.
Quiet, not a rapid tumbled over another, the shore did not gasp... The world knew yet he didn't seem to.
    "The melancholy waters lie."
He spoke as he dredged into the abyss, up to his neck he began to swim; Stroke after stroke until he reached the the depth which his heart spoke.
    "The melancholy waters lie."
The face had come to mind... And dawn has come to life.
He looked up from the water to see a face so familiar...
The pale color of his eyes, the part of his hair and the face so familiar yet it seems to be- forgot.
A last gasp as the water suffocates his cry, he only tried to save himself from the tragedy; doomed to repeat the woes of his life.

    "The melancholy waters lie."
