I intend to write this poem
    The way I want to be;
    Unlike anything.
    The way I am.
    To prove genuine
    To do what others attempt
To give my innermost in it’s most palpable form
    To impress with my wit
    Escape history.

    And so
    I become everybody else.

    I’ve copped out
And decided that I don’t care
If my words don’t sound original
So long as they are sweet
    Coming out
So long as I let them have weight
That I can feel being taken from my brain
So long as I run my mind over their texture
Like a dog rolling in something intoxicating
You may have heard them before,
    but they are mine
    Because I have tasted them.

Even if it doesn’t sound like
It took me an hour to write this line

    It did

You only have to write them for you... if the rest of the world doesn't "get it", then they weren't meant to be inside your head anyway, is my guess.

As for the hour.... at least it was productive. I've spent well over 10, with a million words on the tips of my finger-thoughts, never making a single entry...

I don't care about the twelve rules for proper commentary either. This has the taste of a work wedged between what might be considered your weightier, more powerful works - the afterglow of the pleasure mingled with the expectation of success.

In other words, you've written this for you.

    Savor the rebellion.

    3. How did it make you feel?
    4. Why did it make you feel that way?
    5. Which parts?
    6. What distracted from the piece?
    7. What was unclear?
    8. What does it remind you of?
    9. How could it be improved?
    10. What would you have done differently?
    11. What was your interpretation of it?
    12. Does it feel original?

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
