Description: Everyone wants to be famous. Who doesn't??? It's only natural to want to be remembered for something. The process of fame is very competitive so if your initial reason is not for the love of it, why get into it in the first place?
Let me know if you guys like this one
Wannabe Famous -------------------------------------------
What do you mean by next?!
You don't need the next person
This is who you're looking for
Right in front of you;
I am the talent you need.
Let me guess-
You can hear it calling your name
You can picture walking the red carpet
And smiling with your "dazzling" smile?
You know in your heart you were born for it
That given the chance, you'd be the best.
But the picture shows otherwise
Please come back after taking some classes.
I don't need classes!
Who needs classes with my talent?!
This is my purpose in life
This is what will make me famous
Without it, I'm back to my 9 to 5.
That's all to ask for-
Whether it's for something or nothing
Just performing should be enough.
Knowing you're doing what you love
Not for the sake of being famous
Or for the sake of being remembered
But for yourself because without it
You have no identity.
especially for poets...we want to be remembered for what we do...we hope to leave some legacy...some voice of our generation to share with future generations..show them how it was...
we do this because we love it...but also because it is what we were born to do...it IS our identity...for sure.
taking classes to do what comes naturally...nah i don't think so...i think for many poets it is innate..something you can't teach...
we can take classes, learn forms and try to fit ourselves into those forms...but to me...the best poetry is that which comes naturally...
just like those who are born to play music, write songs, perform, act etc..you can just see it...
some just do it and it works...others apply the craft and just keep working on it and working on it...which is commendable but doesn't always produce the best results...
okay...i don't know how i got off on all that rant...oh yeah i do..this poem sparked it...
