Journey to the Moon

I don't want to view the world as an object in the sky that has been engulfed by the darkness. I want to believe that somewhere there is a golden light that swallows all my fear and pain.

Though I don't know where I am going
I am destined for greatness and I am
a star... una estrella .

By the end of this journey my heart will be on the moon.
I just pray that my time won't come too soon
Because this void in my heart will be restored

And I will finally be at peace.
Maybe it is that time where I truly let my light shine.
I have finally made up my mind for the last time.

All my dreams that I crave at night
Are now no longer a might
But reality and despite the fact

Of what you might think
I will shoot for the moon
And the stars will only be a resting place.....

  Hey,
Interesting theme with the moon and all. Very interesting poem itself. The 'story' behind it is really well thought out too.
I really liked the line: "I will shoot for the moon and the stars will only be a resting place..." it indicates a sense of striving so that really finishes it off well.
It is a really wonderful poem, but I must admit, some of the rhyme and ryhthm did confuse me; like in the fourth stanza, the first two verses I felt were a bit inconsistent... but otherwise, I really enjoyed reading this poem and the story behind it. (:
