    -------------------------------------------

    the buzzing of cicadas;
    the blue morning light;
    my breath, misting in the cool air;

    the clothespins snap in my fingers,
    and the clothes, wet with melting frost, folding and furling like lilies,
    are heavy in my arms

    and the river is hot, steaming, perfumed with heady scented rushes,
    and the ferryman's oars dip and rise,
    parting the glassy waters noiselessly

    and above, the seagulls flop in the sky,
    drifting down to earth like pieces of paper:
    essays, poems, stories, songs

    and it takes me a long time
    to discover that I am dreaming

      I am way too tired to leave a more specific comment, so I will just say for now that this is beautiful.

    It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
