    dotsThe Panacea for The Guiltdots
    -------------------------------------------

    When did it happen ¿?

When did we relinquish our conscience
And turn our eyes to our own individual comfort
When was it, we settled back in our armchairs
    And stuffed our faces
While children starved to death elsewhere

When did we become so cold
So far removed from our humanity
So completely divorced from our heart

When did we become so sick

    Which turn did we take
And down what dark alley way
To lead us to this complicity of disgusting wealth
    When did all the burgers
And all the fast food solutions
Become different from the final solution

    We accept murder
As if it were beyond our control
    We excuse ourselves
Behind a plethora of apathetic veils
    And yet
    We are ripped open
    Left bleeding and dieing
But still Hollywood keeps us entertained
    And keeps us laughing

So when was it, when did we become so dis-effected
    By the suffering of people
Did we see far too much of it in films
Did when then just disassociate ourselves
As we do, when we watch TV

Did we say, it’s just not real
And then give ourselves the panacea for our guilt
Shot in the arm and jacked up in the brain
While chasing the dragon of our own blatant and willful
    Ignorance

Where and when did we lose our souls
Our love, our compassion and our self-determination
    Did we relinquish control
Did we yawn and say ho hum
When the death screams of the innocent
    Assaulted our ears

Did we hand over all we are
To these corrupt, sick and psychotic governments
    Who’s roll it was
    To serve us

When did we become so weak
    And so pathetic
So wrapped upon the paths of hate
    That we forgot love
Forgot care, forgot who we are
    And became so small

    And so small
    Is who we are

When did we become this travesty of our own humanity
    How did we lose ourselves
How were we fooled so completely
Into thinking that we, ourselves, are the enemy

When did we become so sick

“It is no measure of health, to be well adjusted, to a profoundly sick society”
    Krishnamurti.

I ask the same questions every damn day. That sounds like it would be better spoken through a microphone on some podium in front of a crowd.
