Description:

Can't Make it on my Own

The nightmares are screaming in my head
telling me things I dont want to hear
and everyday is falling away
further from my hopes and dreams

live life to the fullest
that's what you always said
but I cant see the logic
and I cant see the light

there is only darkness in the land
a state of terror in our hearts
we are lost and in need of guidance
so come take my hand

I cant make it on my own
I am shattered and broken, straying from my path
please take my hand, and guide me back to the light
give me the hope to go on
because, I cant make it on my own

every now and then, the world begins to spin
and every thing begins to change
like a twisted horror film
I just close my eyes and pray that it ends

I'm so tired of running
so tired of feeling alone
I'm reaching out my hands
and I'm screaming to you

do you hear my call?
do you care at all?
show me some mercy
take pity on my soul

I cant make it on my own
I am shattered and broken, straying from my path
please take my hand, and guide me back to the light
give me the hope to go on
because, I cant make it on my own

You know, I'm not particularly religious myself, but I could honestly feel what you're expressing in this piece. That feeling of being lost and just wanting to go home is really strong. Whether it's just the lack of will to hold to your convictions, trials, questions, confusion, or a full-blown "crisis of faith", I think everybody who has been religious at some time and who has thought deeply about their life and faith has gone through this.

What I like the most is that this was very honest and heartfelt. Thank you for sharing.

This reminds me of lyrics to a song. The title sure sounds like one.
