You ever wonder if our loved ones who have already passed are still around? I want my Sunny back, if only for a minute. I never got to say goodbye and it haunts me.

    dotsSpeak To Medots

Oh keeper of the heavens above
Grant me proof my hero still exists
Rain from my soul yearns for his love
For cries cannot quiet when lost in abyss

Pieces of my heart live on through death
May his lifeless heart beat through mine
His memories creep out with every breath
And a name like Sunny will forever shine

Can he hear his name when it's screamed in silence?
Will he not cover the wounds that threaten to bleed?
Or was he sent to a world to live without violence
Away from the need of greed from which are the ones that get to feed

My Hero, my father, my very best friend
Even through death, his light still glows
For him now, the pain has come to an end
But the answers I seek, I may never know

May he whisper "I am not dead" to ears that listen
Hell is only the world in which we're given
Carry on through where the soft winds glisten
And show us all who curse it, why life is worth living

Death is not the end of life, but the beginning of eternity. My parents and five siblings have gone ahead, my I be welcomed in their loving arms again, with no sorrow between us.JESUS said I am the life, his death was for they who would earn HEAVEN on their own.

This was a sweet poem of remembrence, thank you.

The spirit of those that we love never dies, and it follows us wherever we go. I can relate to this!

I feel the spirit of my mother, who died at the ranch before I knew her, my father, who also died there, and my grandfather Cash, who founded the place. I seem to feel their spirits constantly when I go out there to get some country air from time to time.

Your poem not only has excellent meter and rhyme, but it is soulful and moving, which is what poetry is really about. I can feel your father's appreciation for his lovely girl's remembrance!

    Nice work!
