The fields of fire were endless, Licking tree and limb. Coursing heat boiling the sky. Blue suffocated, Inky billows, and blood soaked sun, Caught reflected, on boundless water, Rescued. |
Good imagery, but that is all that I personally took from it. I can kind of see where you were going for symbolism but it didn't really take. I think you should look at this poem again. You have a lot of good imagery of what a pilaging fire is like, but I think you should try and develop this more while asking these quesrions: What does the fire symbolize? What is the cause/origin of the fire? That's just a couple I aksed myself after reading. Ambiguity is important in poems like this, so you never want to reveal too much.
