    dotsTom & Katiedots

Tom and Katie met one day, as they passed the school house gate
Katie she was 7 then, and Tom, had just turned 8
He marvelled at her hazel eyes, and flowing ponytail
She gave to him a cheeky grin, which made Tom turn quite pale

In the classroom they sat side by side, and held hands every day
They wrote each other loving notes, with crayons of blue and grey
At dinner time, they shared their lunch, and fruit juice from a can
Katie played the loving wife, and Tom, he played the man

Tom used to call for Katie, and he walked his girl to school
He carried Katies pencil case, with crayons, pen, and rule
If ever it was raining, Katies brolly, Tom would hold
And he gave to her his coat whenever, she was feeling cold

They used to walk out in the park, in the sun and in the rain
Katie brought her dolly, and young Tom, he took his train
The two were so inseparable, just like two turtle doves
Two little people of this world, and they were so in love

One morning, Katies mummy sat her daughter on her knee
She told her theyd be moving soon, far out across the sea
Katie cried a million tears, and pleaded with her mum
To stay right here and never move, cause she was in love with Tom

Her mummy said to Katie, she was too young to know her mind
She told her that in years to come, she would leave Tom behind
She said young kids cant fall in love, and Katie soon would see
In the years ahead, Tom would become, a distant memory

Before she left him, Katie and Tom, arranged for one last date
They kissed each other one more time, just by the school house gate
They made a vow to meet one day, and to never break the chain
Kate gave Tom her dolly, and Tom gave to her his train

Twenty years had passed, as Tom walked by the school house gate
His thoughts were with his Katie, who was nearly 28
As he turned around, he saw two hazel eyes and flowing hair
A teardrop fell, as he now knew, his Kate was standing there

They hugged and kissed each other, by the school gate in the rain
Tom held Katies brolly, as they hugged and kissed again
Exchanging train and dolly, they set off to live one life
With Tom, a loving husband, and with Kate, his loving wife

They lived a life so full of love, a love that was so strong
Katie knew that they had proved, her mummy to be wrong
Two little children fell in love, and it grew stronger everyday
Theres a lessen here for everyone, true love never goes away
