"Why me, why this?"
Riddled with questions
a child should never know.

Abused & forget
she trudges only to find
Shattered glass,
Gingerly she tries to gather the pieces.

The warmth of her failures,
drips down her hands,
crimson stains the puzzle.

Seconds tick away
and before she knows it
the buzzer sounds.

"Who am I?" she thinks aloud
As she stares into stained and broken glass,
The reflection it differs from before

Within her broken soul
patients perservered
she conquered all.

I really enjoyed this piece alot. My favorite part is the 3rd stanza. To me that had alot of power and imagery. All and all i like the whole flow of the piece. "Warmth of her failures" i think was the most powerful line. Failures we look as surgical cold things. But the warm of it comes for the person, most powerful. The whole piece grabbed me and led me on a journey to a mental painting and self-empowering conclusion.
