    dotsThe Stormdots

I take a deep breath and let it all in
    There's a storm raging violently
Rolling thunder warns of the fear it brings,
    blinding lightning flashes misery
But for once I'm not going to run; I'm not going to hide
I feel calm and secure with you by my side

I hold my breath so as not to shout
The storm reminds that it's still right here
    Howling winds whisper of doubt,
and the dust in my eyes cause a million tears
But for once I'm not buckling, I take my stand
You're next to me, holding my hand

I sigh deeply and let it all out
The storm is at its worst; I'm sure
Raindrops fall like those I have to live without,
and the cold cuts like the pain I have to endure
But for once I feel as though I can win this fight
You squeeze my hand just to say it will be alright

    I'm breathing easy and relieved
The storm has passed and I still feel you
The brightness of your smile hints of what we've achieved,
and your eyes remind me that the sky is once again blue
I've learned a lesson; cast it in stone:
No one can weather the storm on their own
