Our hands grew cold,
She gave us the sun,
And its rays of golden light...
We wanted to dream,
And wish for more,
So she hung the stars in the sky..
She saw what would become,
And mountain streams-
Formed inside her eyes...
And the restless oceans-
The rolling seas,
Were made of the tears she cried...
We blackened those waters,
and blocked out the sun...
Made ugly this Earth,
As we polished our guns...
Destroyed all the love,
Welcomed the pain...
Stood at our windows,
And damned the rain...
Built tall bulidings,
Where trees stood first...
Money became God-
An insatiable thirst....
Oh our hearts, they wandered,
Our hate demised....
Just as Mother Nature prophesised... |
