I often find myself saying things & not being able to stop the words from escaping my mouth. I'm such a terrible person for it, too. I have no self control.

    I just can't think before I speak!

The words are out of my mouth before I even think of them,
daring words skydiving from unconscious thought
plummeting into the air of the real world
and then making a shaky landing upon the ears of others.

They'll then try and pick up my words,
shake them off, see if they're right
and ask me if I could,
    "Repeat what you said, please?"

I look at my words all mangled up
    interlocked and making no sense.
I shake my head thinking that it's
certainly not an experience I'd want to do again.

They shrug and leave the words,
    those daring words
    to stay injured and forgotten.

It's what they deserve for carelessly flying around.

I call it speaking before my brain is in gear--then it's oops, did I say that out loud? Often I "wix my mords" unbelievably. Speech dyslexia anyone?

I like what you've done with this, I get a picture of all those mangled misaligned words lying all over the place, hopelessly misunderstood and unloved.
    Cheers, Chris

and once we have said it, we just can''t take it back...no matter what...the words have parachuted to the ground and they stay there.

    nice analogy here.

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
