Decided to stop taking drugs with a friend, braided 2 leather bracelets to wear as a reminder of the promise made.

    Braided a leather vow,
    built a solemn pact.
    We are masters now,
    there's no looking back.

    Brown and twisted
    were our days, wasted.
    But time has shifted
    to change our faces.

    A circle, now perfect.
    A reminding embrace..
    We are highly gifted
    to be touched by grace...

Congrads on your decicion. And that leather vow, that's a good way of keeping your promise.

I used to wear a silver ring with a star on it. My ex gave it to me, and I promised I'd wear it remind myself of my love for him. It lasted 6 years though he always used to tell me what to do and not do.

Now I wear a silver ring with three twisted lines. It's my reminder never to let any guy tell me what to do and not do. I bought it myself too. Since then, I never let a guy tell me what to do.

Things have no meaning until you tell yourself what it symbolizes so that when you look at it, you know what you need to do.

    Nice simple meaningful poem.
