       I'm writing a story about a nutty family from the perspective of the most sane one who happens to be the 12 year old daughter. This is just the 'introductory' chapter and is very short...

    No one understood when she said that when her favorite T.V. show became extinct, something inside her died, too. "The Walton's" never meant that much to anyone before...she's most probably their one and only fan. Who would have thought that the hopeless child could be so dull? Her young, chubby face was bright with red Jello as she slurped sullenly at the sugary mess on her spoon.

    Calling a psychiatrist is a major task for my mother since she suffers from her own mental setbacks. The sight of a phone sends chills down her spine and a look of terror spreads across her face. You see, any sound of a bell will bring back those nightmares of endless days in the kitchen with a defective timer on the stove. And so, with an air of sluggish apathy mixed with prideful arrogance, my brother proceeded to to dial the most recent psychic hotline his memory could conjure.

    I just sat in the corner and traced my family tree back to a halfwit in a looney bin...
