Gibran once said the trees are the poems of the Earth. We cut them down and transform them into paper to record our own emptiness. jm

    dotsHe said, O man!dots

    He said, O man!

He said, O man, learn from the trees.
When somebody cuts off a branch
the tree does not hit back.

When somebody throws stones at them,
    they yield fruit in exchange.

They take the hot sun on their heads
and provide shade to the weary traveler.
They give the perfume of their flowers
without asking whether you deserve it or not.

O man, learn from the trees!
When they are crowded in the forest,
they do not fight with each other,
they adjust to each other and share the sunshine.
That is what life would be like if we had no egos!

We have a bigger problem than trees and animals.
Nature has completely determined life for them.

We have been granted some choice,
but we are misusing the choice!

    Man learn from the Trees!

    By an Indian poet.

And it was another Indian (or perhaps this same one) who attained enlightenment sitting under a banyan tree:

~ Lord Buddha was sitting under a banyan tree ... ;-))~

One day, a furious Brahmin came to him and started abusing him. The Brahmin thought that Lord Buddha would reciprocate in the same manner, but to his utter surprise, there was not the slightest change in the expression on his face...       the Indians knew how to appreciate the land...they lived with respect for it and for nature...and realized we all help each other, nourish each other....we don't just use...

and the trees are so majestic..so beautiful...and we just don't honor them with some care. very sad

Our egos will be the end of us, one of these days. We can already see what a person's ego can do with power. We've been given choices to guide our own lives and yet we do not listen and learn from what nature gives us.

The example of the trees is a perfect observation of how corrupted we are. If someone hits us, we hit them back. If someone comes near our personal space, we shove them away. When someone does something horrible to us, we do not give them gifts or show them understanding.

I don't think we could ever be like the animals and the plants. Especially where I live in the urban city where everyone competes to be somebody even if it comes to stepping on someone to get ahead.

Nature will stay pure until the day we destroy that as well.
