    dotsPrayers for Strengthdots
    -------------------------------------------

    1.
    When bearers of lies
hurl their spears at my heart,
    May I have strength
    to breathe them aside
    with truth.

    2.
    When Officious buzzards swoop down
to steal flesh from my bones,
    may I have strength
to hold their necks with my hands
    and transform those birds
    into doves.

I very much agree with Jacob.

Officious buzzards , thought that was clever.

This poem reminds me of Buddhist living with the emphasis on breath and compassion.
This is a beautiful piece. If I could make just one suggestion it would be to tweak the last bit...just a little.

Ex: to hold their necks with my hands
    and transform those birds
    into doves

    could read:
to hold their necks in my hands
    and transform them to doves.

Just a little thing. I look forward to reading more from you. Thanks for sharing this.

    Kind regards,

    EW
