    dots"Where Courage Is The Promise"dots

    When dark clouds of depression
turn the days into black nights
and where hope is a mere passion
    and a prayer to make things right;

    Where love has been forsaken
and blue skies have turned to gray
    where the promise of tomorrow
    is removed to another day

    then courage is the promise
and the force to make things right
it can defeat the voice of treason
and turn darkness back to light.

    Where courage is the promise
that hope is here to stay
there are voices from within us
that are sure to take the day.

And the hope for mankind's freedom
    is forever guaranteed
    where courage is the promise
    to solve a nation's need.

Courage, the strength to accept the days problems and to go on with your life, to change what we can and to accept what we cannot as another bump in the road of life.
Very good poem of HOPE and COURAGE RON, thanks for sharing.

This song of courage is remarkable, that it reads of HOPE, for tomorrow and faith in a self that can overlook the sorrows of yesterday and look to a brighter future.

Really, matter-of-fact! You need to re-touch the first stanza, though. I think you should consider removing 'dark' in the first line of the first stanza. Redundancy doesn't help here. Additionally you may also like to remove 'but' in the 3rd line of the first stanza. Rest of the poem is very good.

Very inspiring poem Ron. I liked the lines there are voices from within us. Great. It is very uplifting and suggestive of transformation of gloominess to gaiety.

Your writing is more than words. It is deep and yet so simple to read and understand.

This is spoken so courageously! I love the structure, the rythm, it was satifying and encouraging to read.

I like how this speaks of something very valuable and substantial but also credits the other perspective. But this idea of courage you have presented, in this piece, forces its way to conclude a hopeful solution. I think this piece should be read aloud to our nations youth in every classroom.

Maybe the work places as well/

Thanks for sharing this piece I really enjoyed it.
    Have a wonderful day.

Great write Mr. Cole, but then again you always write beautifully, I was feeling quite sad in the beginning but felt uplifted and more lighthearted after reading it in its entirety. Absolutely wonderful! We could all use a little courage :)
