Ode To Samantha -------------------------------------------
You came to me in a dream
The wind danced in the bright green blades of grass
You were running away from me
Giggling with a sound that would make angels envious
You ran into the forest in your little blue dress
You lost your favorite blue ribbon
It snagged itself on a branch of the tree
I grabbed it as I followed you deep
Until we can to a small pool of wonder
It glistened in the sun’s light
You smiled at me
“Thank you, sissy!”
Were your words to me
I didn’t understand why you called me that
As you took the ribbon from my hand
“Put it back in my hair for me,”
And I found myself smiling as I wrapped it into your golden curls
I had never felt just joy in my life as I did then
You faded away
And I found myself in a house with you
“you look so pretty!”
You said as you pointed to a picture above the fireplace
I looked up seeing a picture of myself
Long black hair ended with ringlets
Wearing a callor
An emerald in the center
In a beautiful velvet green dress
I didn’t know why I there was a picture of me
I turned to ask
You were no longer standing beside me
Holding my hand to tightly
“SISSY!”
You screamed for me
And flames engulfed everything
You screamed and cried for me
I couldn’t find you before someone pulled me out
“Samantha!!”
I was on my knees crying fighting to get back in
Even though I didn’t know you
I jump awake and looked around
You are standing in the corner of my bedroom
“Hi, sissy!”
You smile and wave
Before disappearing again
And I wept
For it is my fault you burned
Almost three hundred years ago
