I wake from every night
a little less of my appetite
all that is
all that I am becoming
is surreal to me.

the darkness is shadowing
every inch of my heart
and blinding where I should see
but the memories are golden
and they glow magnificently

so I looked into my soul
to find where my love was leaking
and I found my dreams were
running out on me
& they had turned to sand
but still i waited for you.
still i waited.

had I drifted out of your mind?
Did I have no place?

the ocean calmed
as the colour of rose
disappeared from the sky
and as far as the eye could see
everything was turning its back on me.
but still i hung onto my oars,
and tried to row to shore.

oh 'cause what we had,
it doesn't happen everyday.

Very nice, I have experienced such longing, hoping, waiting, hanging by a thread and can relate well. My favourite lines were :

all that is
all that I am becoming
is surreal to me.

but enjoyed the eintire piece. It is very hard to let go of something special.
