I can't but wish that you were here right now, But a wish does not bring you to me. If there be a God then I wish to ask him this - Why do you not let us be with the ones we love? If you do, then why do you not let us say what we want to? Am I bound by time or your soul? Is it my humanity or your divinity? I know I speak to myself, For you reside, if at all, deep within, In my heart and in my soul. It is your faith which gives me might, To face the incessant thrusts of this night, Of staying all alone in the dark, And waiting for your divine spark. I know I can't say all that I want to the one I wish, But I know that you can read my mind, And understand what lies deep within my heart, And convey to the one I wish to speak, My thoughts, my love and an immortal kiss. |
