    dotsMa Meredots

Two hearts beat in one body
    Nine months until you're born
    I am my mother's offspring
The womb from which I'd been torn
Her arms are a place of shelter
Her bosom a place to rest
When she sang, her body echoed
While my ear pressed to her chest
    She awaits the pitter patter
    Signifying my first steps
At the sound of my first word
In an instant she had wept
Hand in hand we strolled to school
    Suppressing a feeling of dread
Hoping her son will be kept safe
As when she'd cradle me to bed
Through the years when I had fallen
She was there to raise me up
    Crying on her gentle shoulders
Kissing away discomforts in a manner so abrupt

As I grew older, and she grew frail
    I would always drift astray
    Keeping my self in isolation
    While slowly pushing her away
    At dinners there was silence
Our home was filled with frowns
She tried to converse in car rides
But with music, her voice I drown
Enraged, I curse and yelled at her
    Not caring what I'd say
With shouting wars, and slamming doors
    I would often run away
    Causing her public humiliation
Or hanging up while on the phone
Wishing that I had better parents
Or awaiting the day I lived alone
I don't know how it's come to this
    Our bond was torn apart
She was the one whom I admired
A half of each others heart

Now when I look into her eyes
    Sadness is all I see
From goodnight kisses that went unanswered
Or hugs that were left empty
Her soul has, now, gone hollow
Her mind was left to rust
From my thoughts that were left unspoken
Because with her, I could not trust
It's too late now to mention
All the words I could convey
How I long to be beside her
And how I pray for her each day
    Just one embrace to show
That my love for her is true
How much I'm sorry for my actions
And all the pain that she's been through
With tears, I look back to the days
When her face was all I knew
Knowing that I killed my mother
By saying one less "I love you"...

This is a very deep and complex poem about your relationship with your mother. Forgiveness. No matter what happens your love for your mother is true and that is all that matters.
