    Description:
It eats away at us. It comes to define us. Memories, moments and those who we've left behind. Some just leave while others die. Yet we just wait, wait forever- our forever, wallowing in sickness. Degrading the heart, mind and soul... Until what? We wither away-

    "Hello."

That voice spoke, once upon a time ago.
    Soft; compassionate, purged of ego.
    I smiled.

    "Rain."

Splashing; mixing with the dirt on my face.
Grimy gray smears working on staining the soul.
    I stared.

    "Hello?"

    Eyes reflecting only the absence.
They said the edge would feel like this.
    Helpless.

    "Hurry."

Never laugh as a hearse drives by.
Caught, shocked in the presence of it all.
    I frowned.

    "Hello..."

It was time to go- Always to remain in gold.
    Turning away, and growing old.
    Alone.

    "Goodbye."

Silence waited in patience, departing with solitude.
    Forever in love-
    I hope.

wow, this is so sad....it moved me and reminded me of my best friend who died back in 1984...i was a pallbearer at her funeral.

taken too soon, she was 27....beautiful woman inside and out.

this took me down that road...and touched me deeply.
