Description:

A religious poem.

Upon a cross so high

Pinned upon a cross so high
was God's begotten son
Son of God chosen to die
for his people, every one.
Sent to us from up above
to pay for our sinful acts
He gave his life to show his love
Something he would never take back
Pray in rememberence of He
who saved us all that day
And remember the Lord who payed the fee
by giving his life away

  Jan,

You seem to be a true christian, and I've just posted a poem you might like a lot better. It's called 'Good Friday.'
Go have a look.

I appreciate your comment on 'How Do I Loathe Thee' but as far as #9 goes, I think I'll keep it as it is. The reason being is that there are a lot of good and true christians out there, but Bush is not one of them. He is one of the hypocrites that Christ said he would vomit out of his mouth. Go back and read my piece one more time. Keep in mind that all the numbered items on there have all been proven true. Read slowly through each of the items, and when you are done, ask yourself if Jesus would approve of any of them. That's why it's so important for me to keep #9 up there. So that when true christians look at Bush, instead off seeing one of themselves, they'll know him for the hypocrite that he is.

Again thank you and God bless,
Junemarie

I really enjoyed this one...very touching and well expressed.

Pray in rememberence of He
who saved all of us that day
And remember the Lord who payed the fee
by giving his life away

That last stanza there has alot of meaning in it, and your choice of words was great! Ummm..can't see anything I would change..
Good Work

i would like to make sure that the writter of this poem knows that the comment below mine by nameless_nobody is an atack at religions in general, the topic of your poem not the poem itself. The poem is great, and I very much agree with pretty much everything nameless said...but I never understood how Jesus dying on the cross saved us...was the world gonna end if he didnt?? never got that one it would be cool if you could explain to me...

ahh finaly i poem i can have an opinion on. something for me bash [censored] out of. this is basicaly going to be one good burn the church coment so just stop reading and let me vent.

religion is [censored]. if i declared i was the son of god and the savior of all man kind i would be throw in a padded cell never to see the light of day again. if i went back in time and said it i would have millions of morons worshiping me by now. jesus was no different to 90% of people in mental hospitals. if he died for our sins is it okay to keep sinning? with people being as evil as they are shouldnt there be a jesus every single day just to keep up with all the sinns that need forgiveing. okay thats jesus done with now for his followers.

christians in general are all brainwashed hypocrites. they can quote me judge not let ye be judged yet they judge me because i have a different opinion. they just go around decideing people are wrong and need to change. why do they try to force religion on others. read that '1000 biggest lies of all time' book aka the bible. jesus didnt threaten people with hell if they didnt conform. jesus didnt go around judgeing people who were poor, thieves, prostitutes, athiest, murdering romans. but christians just judge everyone. ok thats general christians now for catholics.

when did jesus apoint the first pope? never cos a bunch of moronic christians did just so they could get power over people. gods representative on earth my hairy ass. hes just a power mad god wanabie. and whats with all the giant cold plated churches catholics have. why is it the vatican spends billions on makeing peoples eyes hurt from the amount of gold in churches and instaling a bowling alley in the popes giant house? if god were real would he want loads of time money and energy spent on big churches or would he want it spent saveing the starving in africa? christian aid begging me for some money to save the hungry when they could cure world hunger by selling all the churches. god wouldnt care about where hes worshiped he would care about his people. ok thats catholics now all non-catholic denominations.

henry XIII was the founder of non-catholic christianity. he id it because he was greedy and wanted to be in control of people through religion. so all non-catholics are doing is worshiping his greed. and then over the years other power hungry people have decided they want there own church so they change the religion some more to get what they want. just picking and choseing ideas. religions just a way of keeping the powerfull rich people powerfull and rich and the poor and powerless poor and powerless. k thats them done with. now for jews

actualy i cant be bothered. i could go on for years moaning about all the religions. i could complain about athiests, polatitions, women, men, fat people, thin people, popular people, outsiders and everyone else but i am getting tired.

i opologise for takeing out all this built up agresssion out on you but i do not opologise for bashing your religion. thanks for bothering to read this
