Description:

HORRAY for HOLLYSHIT

Will you be forever enamoured by the glitz
Forever drawn to the façade
The makeup and the stage props
Will life always be drained from a tin can
With it’s easy ring pull of success

Will you always be dazzled by the lights
The catwalk powder lines of ecstasies
And fame upon the dream of a label
Forever remembered on flickering screens
And feed the whims of limousines

Will you always be so enthralled
So rapturous in designer cloth
To be so reduced in famous faces
The iconic impeachment
Of carbon copies

So purchased by covertness envy
In a daze of swimming pool sauna’s
And X rated empathies
Of glamorous mannequins
Who for all the worth, achieve nothing

Will you always be dangled on the noose
Constrained to wish and never have
Will the grit and grind of daily sweat
Seem somehow paltry
In the red carpet chiffon of paparazzi

Buy and bury the artist
No more the queue-card
Or the teleprompt of clueless verbiage
Swim in the luxuries of entertainment
And wish

Will you always by lead by the nose
Lead into cardboard romance
To dissatisfaction and daily boredom
Will you always be slaves to the make believe
The plaster-of-paris and fake jewellery
To alleviate the pain of your poverty

At first you think you are insane
Until the illusion steals your sanity
