    Field of Statues

    I pull you in
    I seek only you
    From within your magnificent grin
    I basked, i grew

    the stone
all around me, gray and artfully designed
crafted with only one thing in mind
    art, perfection, desire

for what is art? if only
to desire something in our deepest soul, personified
    reflected and shown

Cast off this air of beauty
Let all of your sins be known
for in the darkest day we know
    that love is only
    love is only
    is only

    I stand alone
    in this field of stone
    statues that reflect
    someone i used to know
    someone I used to know
    I used to know...

      I really like how you move the words and it is really interesting...the I ending I suggest;

    someone I used to know
    I used to know...
just this the repetition I don't like so much...but that's just me..

we often view art as we want to see it...and the same for significant others...we are blinded by love and see what we want to see...

i see a speaker here wishing that original vision of the other person would return.

it's like finding out the truth and wanting the lie back.

    i like where this moves.
