By the road there seemed to be
A woman in grey:
We paused to ask her the way.
"Do you want to go there?
"Is it stones you are carrying?
"Who are you looking for
"At Srebrenica today?

"Srebrenica,
"Srebrenica,
"That's a beautiful town;
"Who are you looking for
"At Srebrenica today?"

There was nobody by the road
Only a shadow,
Nobody to show us the way,
But we heard the wind and trees moan:
"Are you bringing the stones?
"Who are you looking for
"At Srebrenica today?

"Srebrenica,
"Srebrenica,
"That's a beautiful town;
"Who are you looking for
"At Srebrenica today?"

  This is a sad song.
It was an incredibly sad period of history. Its still baffling how such a massacre could occur in modern times with its super fast communications...
yet, all those people died without an outcry of protest from the world...

The simplicity of your song is perfect, even though the events were complex,
it all boils down to human suffering.

  i like the juxtaposition of "the beautiful town" but it is deadly...and who are you looking for...

bringing stones...gravestones...with no names...Unknown...hoping to be known/identified...

a moving write...like a sad song.
