    -------------------------------------------

    A blue rose,
    amidst the shadows of mahoganys
    bound to the mountains,
    of Visayas,
    land of emeralds.

I see the widest green there,
    where children run,
    blocking the sun,
    with kites roaming high.
In chicken, eagle and boat shapes,
    Oh, everything can fly.

    I remember home,

    home,
    and sliding down the hill,
    laughter echoes as I flipped,
    upside down.
My heart beats just to remember.

So a place where roses grow,
    with indiferrent hues.

    I am blue,
    and emerald is home.

I haven't left my hometown but I never pictured it like this..this is beautiful te..made me appreciate this city in a new way..though I haven't been to Bontoc at all,, is it much greener there?..perhaps it is, compared to Maasin..hmm I am now left wondering!

I hail from Philippine soil as well, and this piece made me nothing short of homesick. And whilst I've never been in the Visayas, I can easily picture the beaches, which will probably fail in comparison to your slice of paradise, around Batangas where I stay.

I have been googling your islands, not only am I jealous
I mean you really do come from paradise.
I am already planing my next vacation and it
will be in the Visayas. If it is as wonderful as I think
it will be I don't doubt I shall retire there someday.
