    dotsmagdalene's viewdots

    many people scorned her
and judged her by her looks
god himself, it seemed, had left her
demons came to rule her life
anyone who saw her knew she was wild
lord of heaven, the christ, healed her
    everywhere he went, she followed
    never to leave his side
    everything she had was his

    caiaphas opposed the christ
    roman eyebrows were raised
until christ’s death, they would not rest
“crucify him!” became their battle cry
in the garden, they arrested him
frightened by rome, his friends ran away
in order to kill him, a sign on the
    x, the govenor’s approval
it was their doing, pilate proclaimed
onward to golgotha, they tortured the christ
nailing him to a tree; and this is how he died

    reverence for the christ remained
in seeing the open tomb, mary ran for help
    sobbing openly in her grief
even magdalene could not see him
now the voice she knows so well…

its a good thing god knows our hearts.

there are so many people society looks down on these days because of their appearance or percieved behaviours without knowing or even trying to know the stories behind them.

in my home town there is a woman who is FAMOUS the city wide. she is always drunk and always creating a nuisance, usually smells really bad. sleeps on benches or in gutters despite having a home to go to because she is too drunk to get home. taxis wont take her home because she has no money and she smells bad and usually pees herself or vomits in the taxis etc etc etc

the police pick her up daily and take her the cells to dry out or take her home to keep her out of touble because people do mean things to her.

    its awful.

especially if you knew her life story.
i know glimpses of it and i doubt thats even a quarter of it. her father sexually abused her and then passed her around a very violent gang who raped her and bottled her and did all kinds of horrific things to her.

if i had been through that theres no way i would be any different to how she is.

and yet i often wonder what god thinks of her.
im sure his heart is breaking. because he can see her heart and he knows her pain.

    same with mary magdelene.
back in bible days it was too easy for a woman to get a bad name and almost impossible to clear it.

look at the way historians and artists have portrayed her. look at the way they have corrupted her relationship with jesus too.

i wonder how she would be treated if she lived now. no one would prolly notice her...

    anyways. thought provoking.
i always like it when people take stories from other perspectives...

i hope your play is well recieved and goes well.
